Six Cloves presents its second Zinfandel sourced from CCOF-certified Castanon Vineyards, nestled in Redwood Valley, Mendocino. This 7.5-acre plot, cultivated by Jose and his wife, boasts rich red soil and breathtaking views of the valley. The cool growing season allowed the grapes to mature slowly, resulting in complex flavors and vibrant fruit characteristics. The fermentation process included 25% whole cluster, followed by 9 months of aging in neutral French oak. This Claret-style Zinfandel offers enticing aromas of sweet cinnamon alongside flavors of raspberry and red plum, complemented by a firm tannin structure and a refreshing medium finish.
